Restoring your resolution for greatness

What: Northpoint Holistic Fair 2015, a celebration of “consciousness, health, music and fun for all ages”
When: 2:30 - 6:30 p.m. Sat., Feb. 7
Where: Northpoint Center, 1315 Main Ave.

A variety of local businesses and organizations are banding together this Saturday for a day of addressing wellness, both inside and out. The theme of the first-ever holistic Northpoint Wellness Fair is “Restore Your Resolution for Greatness,” with an emphasis on exploring the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual way of healthy living. The day’s events will feature everything from educational talks and local wellness practitioners to organic food and live music. The fair takes place from 2 - 7 p.m. this Saturday at the Northpoint Center, 1315 Main Ave.

“We are offering alternatives to mainstream healthcare and wellness practices,” organizer Tyler Van Gemert, of Mountain Medicine Acupuncture, said.
Featured artists, healers and businesses include iAM Music Institute, Redfeather Healing Arts, Master’s Touch piano, Conscious Kitchen, Turtle Lake Refuge, Salsa Babies and The SW School of Massage & Aesthetics, to name a few. The day’s lineup includes an opening sacred space ceremony followed by yoga/Pilates sessions, talks on health and consciousness. A dance party to the music of local bands The Weight and Wake up Laughing round out the day. Local food artisans will be on hand serving up healthy soups, teas and treats.

Entry into the fair and all the sessions are free and open to the public.
“It’s still winter, and we want to come together to share ideas about how to live and stay healthy all year long,” said Van Gemert. “If successful, we wish to host this event annually.”
