Blues hit a high note on D&SNG train

What: Durango Blues Train
When: Fri. - Sat., May 30-31, 6:50 - 10:30 p.m.-ish
Where: Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

All aboard for a moving musical experience as Telluride Blues & Brews Festival and SBG Productions’ Blues Train rolls into Durango. The unique event features a different lineup of six live blues acts each night, each playing in a different car.

The lineup includes such award-winning musical guests as Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Todd & The Fox, Robby Overfield, Kipori Woods, The Bottoms Up Blues Gang, Eddie Turner, C.W. Ayon, Johnny Long, Chris Dracup and Gino Matteo.

Passengers are free to roam the train as it makes its round trip to the dramatic “Highline,” far above the Animas River, sampling the various music in each car. There will also be one, possibly two, coaches with no music for people to chat and relax.  Beer and wine are available for purchase, along with light snacks. Tickets are $95 per person and are extremely limited. Riders must be 21.
The Blues Train is approximately 3.5 hours long round-trip. The train begins boarding at 6:30 p.m. and pulls out sharply at 6:50 p.m. Departure time is firm however return time to the Depot is tentative.
The Blues Train will return Aug. 22-23 featuring Matthew Curry and the Fury, Alex Maryol, Kirk James, Kipori Woods, Leon J, One Roof Blues, Scotty Spenner, Franco Paletta, Rockin Jake, Donny Morales, Valerie James, and Kevin Jones.
