Getting into the Groove in Buckley Park

What: “Concerts in the Park” with Groove Factor Four
When: Thurs., July 10, 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Where: Buckley Park, 1200 block of Main Ave.

Four local musicians are pooling their talents for the latest “Concerts in the Park” offering, this Thursday evening starting at 5:30. Calling themselves Groove Factor Four, the band is made up of Chad MacCluskey (bass), Jack Maynes (keyboards), Brad Tarpley (drums) and Bob Hemenger (sax). Coming from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and styles, Groove Factor Four will perform everything from jazz to funk and rock.
No tickets are required for the free concerts, which are sponsored by Alpine Bank and the Community Concert Hall. There is no formal seating at the park, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets.
Picnics are invited, and Macho’s Mexican Food will also be on hand with its food cart. All tips from Macho’s food sales will be donated to the Durango Derailers, a cycling team that helps raise funds to help local kids and their families with travel costs for care at Children’s Hospital in Denver. Helping to sweeten the deal, Alpine Bank will match all tip donations.
The “Concerts in the Park” series continues next Thurs., July 17, with Elder Grown, and Sneaky Pete and the Secret Weapons on July 24.
