Reboot mind, body and soul for the new year

What: “Reboot: Mind, Body & Soul Spa Day”

When: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sun., Jan. 4

Where: Durango Mountain Institute, 500 Sheol St., at the base of Durango Mountain Resort

DMR shows its softer side this Sunday with a free day of pampering and rejuvenation at the base-area Durango Mountain Institute.

The “New Year Reboot: Mind, Body and Spa Day” offers a bevy of services meant to bring back piece of mind, healing and relaxation after a long and hectic holiday season. Events kick off with a yoga class from 9 - 10 a.m. upstairs. Meanwhile, local practitioners will showcase their alternative well-being services all day, featuring spiritual energy cleansing, chiropractic, reflexology, sound therapy, reiki, craniosacral therapy, detox foot soaks and more.

And for a little retail therapy, there will be a “strolling fashion show” by Alpine Chic at 1 p.m. as well as a boutique, featuring silk scarves, handcrafted jewelry, teas, essential oils and other unique offerings.

Pre-registration is available for select practitioners at the New Year’s Reboot Facebook page,  facebook.com/events/376974549145886, or available the morning of the event. Sessions will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and attendees are encouraged to sign up early for best availability.

The DMI is located within walking distance of the base, near Elk Point Condos.
