McLachlans stand-up citizens

To the editor:
Over the past few years I have gotten to know Barbara and Mike McLachlan and have found them to be a wonderful couple. In particular I worked with Barbara the past couple of years and she was one of the most kindhearted teachers to work with. At Durango High School’s 2014 graduation ceremony she was chosen, in addition to a fellow teacher, by the student body to give the students’ choice speech which shows how esteemed she is.

I am proud that in Mike McLachlan we have the only member in the State House of Colorado who served in the Vietnam War. Along with all of our war veterans Mike sacrificed his life for our lives and I thank them at every opportunity. I am also proud that Mike went before the Supreme Court and won!

Mike’s incredible leadership shown throughout his life has carried him to be a great representative, fighting for the Western Slope. He is an expert on water and fought for funding for Fort Lewis College and Western State. Mike also helped obtain state funding for projects that will create jobs here in the 59th District by supporting renewable energy production through geothermal.

I am supporting Mike this election cycle, and I invite and encourage you to join me in supporting him this November. Mike McLachlan will continue to fight for us here in the District.
