Local author returns with ‘Reflections from Colorado’

What:  Meet the Author event with Andrea Jones
Where: Maria’s Bookshop
When: Tues., Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

Former Durango resident Andrea Jones returns for a book-signing and discussion at 6:30 p.m. Tues., Nov. 12, at Maria’s Bookshop, 960 Main Ave.The author of Between Urban and Wild: Reflections from Colorado reflects on the familiar details of country life balanced with the larger responsibilities the come with living outside the urban corridors. Jones looks at two different lifestyles of living in the Rockies, one in Fourmile Canyon west of Boulder and the other near Cap Rock Ridge in central Colorado.
Examining the contradictions, her writing is permeated by an earnest conviction that living in the urban-wild interface means setting aside self interest, considering compromise and adjusting expectations and habits.
Jones has also published essays in the Christian Science Monitor and High Country News, among other periodicals. For additional information, call 247-1438 or visit www.mariasbookshop.com.
