Bottoms Up

Stand up paddle: Unequivocally the world’s most awkward river sport. Even the best just aren’t that great. Also known as SUP-ing, that’s right, SUP-ing, this balance-intensive pursuit takes more than a deft paddle stroke and an aggressive stance to excel. It requires swimming. Lots and lots of swimming. And, as any SUP-er (myself included) who has ever paddled a board down river can attest, it’s really hard to look graceful (even when you think you do.) Here’s a look at some Animas River Days stand-up action.
