Meet and greet with tasty treats at Maria’s
What: Meet the Author event
Where: Maria’s Bookshop
When: Sat., Jan. 5 from 7-8 p.m.

Get a taste of the ultimate cookbook and some tasty treats from 7-8 p.m. Sat., Jan. 5, at Maria’s Bookshop, 960 Main Ave. Kelly Cooper, author of Cookies for Grown-ups, and Susan Similanic, the book’s designer, share samples from the book and stories about its creation during this special evening event.

The book is the ultimate cookbook for adults who not only like cookies, but also love sharing cookies with friends and family. A grown-up cookie might be sweet or savory; it might even rekindle childhood memories, but with an added touch of sumptuous sophistication. Some adult cookies go with a cup of tea, coffee or chocolate; others are a match for wine, beer or a cocktail.

Cooper has mixed and tested novel flavor combos for years, and developed hundreds of new recipes, from jalapeño to Slim Jims and beer. With Cookies for Grown-ups, she shares her best and tells novice bakers how to go about creating their own unique creations.
For additional information about the event, call 247-1438 or visit www.mariasbookshop.com.
