Ear to the ground “They don’t make adult-sized diapers big enough.” – Local man commenting on his aversion to base jumping and other extreme sports, despite Durango’s ongoing fascination with them Back on track For the uninitiated, short track entails 15-25 minutes of laps around a short but punchy course of climbs, tight corners and long straightaways. According to adherents, it’s a great way to learn skills while getting a great workout. Races take place every Wednesday night at either the Factory Trails (aka disc golf course) on the FLC Campus, Durango BMX or other soon areas TBD. The B men/women race starts at 6 p.m. followed by the A men and women at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a short fun race for any kids who show up. Devo athletes and coaches race for free, and for all others, it’s a mere $5 per race (funds go to Devo). Season passes can be bought for $50. Small money primes will be awarded throughout the series, depending on racer turnout. Results will be posted the night of race on the Devo website, www.durangodevo.org. |
