Hunt is recognized throughout the industry as “fiercely independent” and combines roots rock, blues, gospel and folk to create her unique sound. Her accomplishments include five acclaimed international releases, numerous performances on international festival stages and six appearances on “A Prairie Home Companion.”
 
Proceeds from the show and a percentage of Hunt’s CD and merchandise sales will benefit the La Plata Family Centers Coalition and its mission to build healthy communities by promoting and supporting the growth and development of families. Showcase of the Arts continues

Durango’s annual nod to the arts hits its stride this week. The Durango Showcase of the Arts runs through Sept. 25 and spotlights culinary, visual and fine arts as well as music, literary and theatre performances at various Durango locations.
 
The Durango Autumn Arts Festival, which runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sept. 18, is a centerpiece of the Showcase. The event will fill E. Second Avenue with artists and their work as well as vendors and entertainment. Also on tap this week, is the DAC’s 10-Minute Play Festival; the Art of Wine; the Durango Salsa Festival; and numerous openings, workshops, signings and readings.
