America the Beautiful: 234 years young and still rolling. Shes had her ups and downs, good times and bad, but like the well-oiled machine that she is, provides us all with the necessary means to keep on rockin in the free world. Durangoans kicked off their own Fourth of July celebration last weekend, complete with dancing, music, BBQs, parade and fireworks, all in perfect weather (word is it rained in Silverton.) Heres a look:

A youngster gets into the partying mood A young rider checks out her own shadow along the parade
route. Spectators line up along Main Avenue to get prime viewing of the
parade. Old-fashioned American pride and ingenuity fills the streets of
Durango.
