Skijoring. Where else can skier and horse join in harmony to create an action-packed winter spectator sport? And what better venue than silvertons snow-packed and slick Notorious Blair Street? This past weekend cowboys and skiers competed for fastest times by rocketing down the 250-yard course, stacked with three airs and six rings which the skier-in-tow must clean or face penalties.Heres a look look at the first ofwhat Silverotn hopes to make an annual event.

Spectators catch the show from The Lookout on Blair Street Rider Justin Wertz launches his skier off the second jump. Skier Jason Dahl pegs the hanging rings, while being pulled by Rich Weber. The only thing that fascinates Liliauna Johnson of Silverton more than horses is a mouthful of chocolate cookie.
