Soup for the soul |
Durango can give something back to the Manna Soup Kitchen this week. The 7th annual Soup Supper and Auction, the kitchen’s biggest fund-raiser of the year, is set for Sat., Oct. 17. Manna serves more than 40,000 meals to Durango’s hungry each year, and the kitchen needs financial support to get the food to the table. This Saturday, Durangoans can help while having a good time for a good cause. The Soup Supper & Auction offers gourmet soups, regional wines and beers, live bluegrass from the Animas City Slackers, door prizes and silent and live auctions. A few of the auction items include a Dalton Ranch Golf Club Lifetime Membership, a scooter from Handlebars Cycle, three days, two nights and four rounds of golf at Tamarron, a kids mountain bike, numerous gift certificates for local restaurants, and more. The fund-raiser runs from 5-8 p.m. in the St. Columba School Gym, 1801 E. Third Ave. For information, call 385-5095. |
