To the joy of local foodies, the highly anticipated kick off of the Durango Farmers Market summer season arrived last Saturday. Area growers and artisans shared their fresh produce, meats, cheese, coffee, flowers and other fine delicacies for all to enjoy. And as spring rolls on into summer, the Farmers Market offers not only the chance to get your fill of fresh, healthy produce, but to spend a lazy Saturday morning catching up with friends and neighbors.

A curious market-goer samples the wheatgrass grown by the fine
folks at Turtle Lake Refuge. The incredible, edible, huevo. Durangoans were greeted by open air and sunny skies. James Ranchs very own Dan James serves up deliciously homemade
artisan cheese. RAS Farms won the table with the most carrots award. The produce
was sweet and good for the eyes! Teresa and Brianna Halsey, of Dragonfly Farm, showcase their
homemade baked bread and fresh greens.
