A celebration of the Dolores: Dolores River Fest set for Saturday

Four Corners residents will rally around the one great rivers in the region this weekend. The annual Dolores River Festival returns to Joe Rowell Park in Dolores on June 6 for a community celebration of one of the Southwest’s great rivers.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and live music will be performed all day. The annual event features local, regional and national bands, as well as, activities like the Fun Race, free raft rides on the Dolores River from Riverside Park to the Lost Canyon take-out, children’s activities, a down-river kayak race, the Zuke’s River Dog Contest, and the Crazy Costume River Parade. Headlining this year’s festival is Lubriphonic hailing from the windy city of Chicago.

The Dolores River Festival is a community celebration of the Dolores River and the many ways it connects the community, the environment, and our resources. It also draws attention to the Dolores River Basin and the challenges faced by local communities trying to balance economic development and riparian resource protection.
