Fiesta Days at a glance |
Fiesta Days at a glance From the early 1930s till present, the annual event we all know as “Fiesta” has been a vital element of Durango and the surrounding area. The event – which seeks to preserve the area’s heritage and Western flavor – returns this week. A street dance, BBQ and pie auction will take over the 800 block of Main at 5 p.m. on Thurs., July 23. The annual Fiesta Day Parade will promenade down Main Avenue at 10 a.m. on Sat., July 25. And the Championship Rodeo takes over the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m. on July 24; 2 & 7 p.m. on July 25; and 2 p.m. on July 26. The wild horse race kicks off each rodeo.
