Biscuit Burner stops over at the Henry Strater
What: A show from Shannon Whitworth, founding member of the Biscuit Burners
Where: The Henry Strater Theatre, 699 Main Ave.
When: Fri., Feb. 6. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

A Biscuit Burner takes center stage in Durango this Friday. Shannon Whitworth, singer-songwriter and founding member of the neo old-time band the Biscuit Burners, plays a Feb. 6 show at the Henry Strater Theatre.

Whitworth currently lives in the mountains of western North Carolina, where she has spent the last 10 years focusing on mountain, bluegrass and country music. She toured for the last four years with the band she co-founded, the Biscuit Burners. On clawhammer banjo and guitar, Shannon’s compositions contributed depth to the band’s material and has helped her gain respect as a truly talented singer and songwriter.

Whitworth is expanding her musical horizons, however. Her current band, the Refugees, is exploring the alt-country side of the genre and her solo record, “No Expectations,” is garnering widespread acclaim.

Doors to the Friday show open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.henrystratertheatre.com.
