Bringing energy to the table |
The conversation on renewable energy lands in Durango next week. The locally based Western Environmental Law Center is hosting a dinner and presentation next Tues., July 22, at 5:30 p.m. at the Strater Hotel. The event is geared toward finding a balance between renewable energy development and environmental and wildlife stewardship. The Four Corners boasts abundant solar, wind and geothermal resources. In addition, several energy transmission corridors are planned for the region to move the new green energy to consumers all over the West. The Western Environmental Law Center hopes to engage Durangoans in a dialogue on the best ways to tap these resources without harming the local landscape. Presenters will include Matt Kenna, an attorney with the WELC, and Tom Darin, of Western Resource Advocates. To register for the event e-mail digiorgio@westernlaw.org or call 946-7509. |
