The 2005-06 ski season went out with a bang last Sunday as locals took to the sun-drenched slopes at Durango Mountain Resort to celebrate the conclusion of another winter season. With a rush of fresh snow over the past few weeks, conditions were excellent as skiers and snowboarders carved up what was left of the ski season. In celebration of the last turns of 2006, locals combined their best 80s skiwear with their left over Snowdown apparel for a variety of unique fashion statements. Cold, frothy beverages flowed as fried turkeys were cooked on the deck outside Purgys. With the hopes that next year's ski season starts as this one ended, winter addicts can plan well ahead and pre-purchase their discounted all season pass from Durango Mountain Resort before April 29.

A bull dog wanders through the crowd as he follows his nose
toward the smell of fried turkey. Ian McCallum cruises through the terrain park on Sunday. Charlie F. Milliet, left, and Duke Eggleston call it a day as
they head toward the beach on Sunday afternoon. Kalen Deremo hucks himself off the kicker at the base of Durango
Mountain Resort en route to landing a back flip Sunday
afternoon. Cameron Kautzman enjoys the warm temperatures and spring skiing
as he speeds toward the base last weekend. Eager to get to the aprs celebration, skiers and snowboarders
discarded their gear haphazardly at the base area. Reba Balboni scans the crowd as she attempts to deliver an order
in a sea of people.
