Main Avenue sidewalks were lined with a patriotic crowd Friday morning as the Veteran's Day parade made its way through downtown Durango. Eager to salute their veterans and support the troops abroad, the citizens of Durango waved their stars and stripes, and smiled with pride as the procession passed by. Parade participants consisted of the Durango High School Marching Band, the American Legion, and the Tin Lizzies, among others. Mother Nature celebrated Veteran's Day as well by holding off the wet, inclement weather until just after the parade's conclusion.

A member of the Army Airborne Division marches with his fellow soldiers. Members of the Durango High School Marching Band keep the crowd marching to the beat. The 2005 Fiesta Days Queen enjoys a trip down Main Avenue from atop her trusty companion. The Al Kaly Temple Tin Lizzies of Durango speed up Main Avenue. A member of the Color Guard stays focused on a blustery Friday morning. Ian McCarthy, 2, smiles for the camera as he waves his stars and stripes while his father, Jim McCarthy, stands by his side. The men from Post 14 of the American Legion out of Silverton stand proud from atop their vehicle.
