The Smiley Building was filled with energy and anticipation last Friday night as The 5th annual Durango Film Festival got under way. Over the 10- day event, 112 films will be screened in three venues throughout Durango. Drawing filmmakers from far and wide, this year's festival boasts a large international contingent. The uniqueness of the filmmakers is matched only by the quality of the films with independent features, animation, documentaries, and shorts all being shown. Film festival events and show times continue through Sunday,
March 13, when the awards ceremony concludes this year's festival. For more information, log onto www.durangofilmfestival.com.
