Motorists traveling
along Florida Road last Saturday may
have been struck by mouth-watering aromas emanating
from the Edgemont Ranch. At the picnic grounds, 11 grill
teams, many of them clad in costume, worked over the
coals and in the heat of the day to satisfy appetites
and
tastebuds. When the day was done, a large crowd of locals
had turned out to sample the cuisine of “Men Who
Grill,”
the Women's Resource Center's annual fund-raiser. Awards
were given in a variety of divisions, with “The
Crocodile
Hunters” winning for best finger food and the “Sunnyside
Outlaws” being voted “Most Tender.“ The
day's top honors
went to “The Italians” who took home both
the People's
and Judge's Choice awards.
