A multitude of musicians for Bach Fest

What: Durango Bach Festival
When: March 8 - 14, various times (see schedule)
Where: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 910 E. 3rd Ave.

It’s that time of the year again. That’s right, the Durango Bach Festival is back for its eighth year. If you enjoy hearing our own excellent student musicians, want to listen to J.S. Bach’s music on harpsichord, piano and organ, or even just want some food from Catering by Cheryl, check out this year’s festival, which runs March 8 -14 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

The festival opens up with two student concerts, followed by a reception hosted by Katzin Music. The next five days will feature noon recitals followed by lunch provided by Catering by Cheryl. On March 11 there will be a midweek concert entitled “The Keys to Bach,” which will feature Bach’s music played by six musicians on harpsichord, piano and organ. The festival will end with a bang on the 14th with a celebration of Bach’s 330th birthday. The Birthday Bash will feature his esteemed Triple Concerto and much more.

Tickets for the Wednesday and Saturday Concerts are $15 for adults and $5 for students.  Noon recitals cost $5 and lunch is $8. Full festival passes are available for $95 at www.DurangoBachFestival.com.
