Ear to the ground:

“All we need to know about Tommy Lee is that  he can steer a boat with his penis.”
– Former Motley Crue fan divulging perhaps a little too much information about the infamous Tommy and Pam Anderson tape while reacting to news of the Crue’s upcoming farewell tour

Glassy but classy

You’re high. Now what? For Colorado’s newest segment of tourist, being strange in a strange town could be a dilemma.

Fortunately, for those capable of finding their way to the nearest stash but soon at a loss for the nearest pizza or trippy art displays, there’s MJTraveler.com. The Durango-born website, the brainchild of a couple of self-proclaimed “ganjapreneurs,” bills itself as a virtual cannabis concierge to Colorado’s 420-friendly towns and attractions. While still in its formative stages, the budding website is working on compiling its “ultimate database for high-class experiences.” Consumers will be pointed everywhere from where to procure their stash and what the rules and regs are to where the pot friendliest hotels, munchies and “must see’s and do’s while high” are located.

“Our site can be summed up by this simple question: ‘You’ve found the weed, you’re high, now what?’” Durangoan Jeremiah Kern (aka Dr. Fatty Greenstone), co-founder and VP of MJ Traveler said. “MJ Traveler will guide you toward the best locations in which to partake of the herb as well as those places you must visit once satisfied.”

The site is currently listed under the umbrella of SmokingwithStyle.com, which sees some 1.4 million hits a year, according to its creators. Described as a “pot etiquette site,” it covers such topics as: smoking weed in other people’s homes (always ask permission before blazing up or helping oneself to drinks or munchies); rolling techniques (a step-by-step guide to the subtle difference between a blunt, joint and spliff); pot cooking (including a recipe for chronic chip brownies); and the all-important “babes and bongs” modeling pics (to look at while the brownies bake.)

“We knew we had already captured the attention of our target audience: cannabis enthusiasts with style and class, so we figured it would be smart for us, and businesses who list with us, to lean on the popularity of our existing site,” said MJTraveler co-founder and president, Aaron Reno.

Colorado businesses will do themselves a favor in identifying themselves as green friendly, according to Reno. “Tourists spend money, plain and simple. There is a cap on how much cannabis they can buy, and that’s where wise restaurant, hotel, touring, retail and other businesses can capitalize,” he said. “Invite the pot tourists in with open arms, be friendly, this will only add to the success of your business.”
