It’s no secret in these parts, especially to anyone who’s spent a summer day at one of the Southwest’s busy tourist attractions scouting the plethora of black socks and sandals, the fascination Germans have with the Wild West.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that the German-language version of Bike magazine (Das Mountain-Bike Magazin for native black-sock wearers) featured a spread on our very own Trails 2000 in its February issue.
And while we can’t profess to know much about the story, since it was written in the mother tongue, it did feature an up-close photo of Ms. Trails herself, Mary Monroe. We could not decipher the caption that accompanied her photo, but we did at least make out the word “sexy,” which we're assuming is internationally understood.
Not to be outdone, Mr. Monroe (aka Olympian Travis Brown), can be seen as the cover boy on the May issue of Bike (das American version) while sampling some singletrack in Idaho. Strangely enough, Brown did not get a close-up photo inside, like his better half did.

Say good-bye to Emily, Aiden and Grace. The top-five most popular baby names in Colorado in 2012 no longer contain those stalwarts of popularity.
According to folks at Social Security, the top five names for boys in 2012 were (in order): Liam, Alexander, Jacob, William and Noah. Girls names topping the list: Emma, Sophia, Olivia, Isabella and Ava.
Nationwide, Sophia and Jacob took top honors followed by Mason, Ethan, Noah and William for the boys and Emma, Isabella, Olivia and Ava with the girls Emily was sixth, with Aiden trailing in 10th.
A little farther down the list were some of the more obscure up-and-comers that have recently cracked the top 500, like Armani, Maverick, Mesiah, Briella, Miracle and Jazlyn.
In addition to each state’s top baby names, Social Security’s website has a list of the 1,000 most popular boys’ and girls’ names for 2012 and offers lists of baby names for each year since 1880.
