Apple Festival returns after banner harvest season
What: Apple Days Festival
Where: Buckley Park, 11th Street and Main Avenue
When: Sunday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Come celebrate the local harvest of the abundant local fruit as the 5th annual Apple Days Festival to Buckley Park this Sunday.

Land Conservancy hosts Fielder for GOCO celebration
What: Book signing and slide show by nature photographer John Fielder
Where: Smiley Building, 1309 E. 3rd Ave.
When: Sat., Oct. 13, 5:30-8 p.m.
Renowned Colorado nature photographer John Fielder, a founder of Great Outdoors Colorado in 1993, celebrates the 20th anniversary of GOCO with a slide show and signing for his latest book, Colorado's Great Outdoors: Celebrating 20 Years of Lottery-Funded Lands from 5:30-8 p.m., Sat., Oct. 13, at the Smiley Building.
Great Outdoors Colorado helps to preserve, protect, enhance and manage the state’s natural heritage, and Fielder served on the GOCO board for eight years.
The author’s latest work shows many of the places GOCO monies helped. This book was created after Fielder traveled 35,000 miles across the state, photographing both public and private lands helped by GOCO funds. His signing tour is an opportunity for Fielder to share his photographs and impressions of GOCO’s accomplishments.
The event is sponsored by the La Plata Open Space Conservancy. For additional information, visit johnfielder.com.
