Cheer on the Riverhouse Children’s Center as it hosts the 3rd annual Cheers for Children fund-raiser from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Glacier Club, north of Durango on Highway 550.
The Riverhouse Children’s Center, now in its 10th year of serving the Durango community, is a child development center where children from six weeks to 5 years receive child care and early education.
The nonprofit organization helps families regardless of socioeconomic status, disability, family composition, race, ethnicity, national origin, religious beliefs or political affiliation.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the center’s food programs and education services. Attendees can enjoy wines from around the world, paired with appetizers. A silent auction is also on the menu with items like an autographed Rolling Stones electric guitar, a trip to the Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta, and a Callaway Solara ladies golf set up for grabs.

Old gear finds new life at annual Bike Swap
What: Durango Devo Bike Swap
Where: Chapman Hill
When: Sat., May 19, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where can that old bike find a brand new life? At the Durango Devo Bike Swap from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chapman Hill Pavilion, 500 Florida Road.
Ring in the summer season with this annual event where 20 percent of the proceeds go straight to the organization. Durango Devo is a junior development mountain bike team for ages 5 to 24 years with a mission to develop individuals into life-long cyclists in the setting of a traditional team.
Anything bike related is welcome at the event. And, it’s not just from the neighbors. The swap is known for offering up jerseys and bike gear from famous riders, too. Ned Overend, Travis Brown, Todd Wells and Willow Koerber are just some of the names associated with the swap.
Drop off items from 3-8 p.m. Friday, and hit up the swap Saturday morning. Bike equipment and clothing from local shops will also be available.
For additional information about the event or the organization, visit www.durangodevo.com.
