Where: Community Concert Hall
When: Wed., May 16, 7:30 p.m.
Seven-time Emmy-winner Ed Asner comes to Durango, starring as FDR on the Community Concert Hall stage at Fort Lewis College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Asner delivers a fearless performance in this one-man drama, demonstrating why the television legend has been nominated for 20 Emmy Awards. Best known for his role as Lou Grant on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” Asner has also appeared on the big screen in films like “Up” and “Elf.”
“FDR” is based on Dore Schary’s Broadway hit “Sunrise at Campobello.” Asner takes the audience through Roosevelt’s years in the White House. The show highlights the president known as “that man in the White House” as he dealt with the Great Depression, the lead-up to World War II and the years that followed.
Asner will also be appearing at a pre-show patio tent reception fund-raiser at 5:30 p.m. to kick off the Concert Hall’s 15th Anniversary.
