For the Ancient Greeks, Hesperus was the mythological god of the evening star. In modern times, Hesperus, Colo., pays homage to the classics by being a place where horseback is still a preferred method of transportation, hay grows tall and cows are fat ‘n’ plenty. Since the early days, residents here have lived the simple life. With historical sites and relics on just about every corner, the Hesperus area is La Plata County’s living time capsule.
