Winner of several awards, including the Audience Choice Award at the Telluride Film Festival, this documentary from Reel Thing Films examines the plastic-wrapped life, shining the light on single-use disposables, waste and recycling issues, ocean and marine health concerns, and the politics of plastics.

Neon jumpsuits and Vaurnets are making a comeback. The American Red Cross in Southwest Colorado hosts the “Snow Way Dude” Retro Ski Party on Saturday to raise funds for disaster response programs.

The synthesizers will sound again on the dance floor for this 1980s throwback celebration at the Derailed Saloon, 725 Main Ave. No Valley Girl vocabulary is needed to enjoy the traditional turkey dinner, either.
Hit the dance floor or get something at the auction, just don’t forget to check out guest bartender Bill Shank, the assistant chief for Los Piños Fire, dressed in his best 1980s ski gear.
