Although the Durango Discovery Museum is powering up, more volunteers and members are still needed. There are various levels of membership, ranging from all-inclusive corporate levels (up to $10,000) to more manageable individual and family levels. Single memberships (Proton level) start at $45 and family memberships (Atom) start at $60. There are also special memberships for educators, extended families, day cares and preschools. All former Children’s Museum memberships will be honored for an additional six months past their expiration date. However, those wanting to re-up might want to pull the trigger sooner than later. Family memberships will go up to $75 starting Feb. 23. Furthermore, current membership ensures an invitation to the Feb. 12 & 17-19 sneak preview openings. In addition to free entrance for a year and discounts on programs, members become part of the Association of Science-Technology Centers Passport program. The program includes free admission to hundreds of museums across the country, including: Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff; The Exploratorium in San Francisco; The Denver Museum of Natural Science; and Explora and the Museum of Natural History and Science in Albuquerque. For more information on memberships or to volunteer, visit www.durangodiscovery.org. |
