
In 1906, President Teddy Roosevelt established Mesa Verde National Park, now the 11th-oldest of nearly 400national parks and monuments in the United States. This ancient tabletop mesa is home to more than 4,700 known Ancestral Puebloan sites, including 600 remarkably preserved cliff dwellings. Offering a unique perspective on this once-thriving stone-built community, Mesa Verde National Park hosted it’s annul holiday celebration last week, lighting the entire Spruce Tree House with candles and luminarias.
