Been comin to this here very spot since the 70s, explains a proud Richie Richmond, of Mebane, N.C. Richmond, along with 18 of his closest pals, spends around a month each year hunting elk in the Lower Hermosa Creek drainage. Their camp, a bonafide trailer mansion, is equipped with a fridge, recliners, seafood, a string band, and just about anything else one might require after a long day in the saddle. Roughing it definitely aint an issue with these boys. Whether or not we get into the elk, were still having a damned good time, Richie says.

Man of the kitchen, Richie Richmond, stirs a pot of Anasazi
beans. Jerry Richmond, of Raleigh, N.C., enjoys the luxuries of home as
he lounges by the wood stove in his reclining chair.
