The new Durango Public Library celebrated its three month birthday this week. Durangoans have been flocking to the new facility in droves to enjoy its ample space, resources and artful and peaceful character. The communitys living roomis open Monday through Wednesday 9 a.m. -9 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

The grand entrance to the Durango Public Library lights up after dark. Visitors come and go through the librarys spacious lobby. Melissa Zinks Guardians stares out at the new library, which is home to numerous public art installations. Plentiful amounts of literature can be found on both levels. Ellie Davenport finds a keeper in the giant childrens section. Shelved books await hungry readers.
