On the tail end of Missionary Ridge, just a few miles north of
town, stand the picturesque sandstone walls of the East Animas
crag. Known for green grass in February, soothing shade during the
heat of summer and, of course, the wonderful climbing, its hard to
imagine a better hang. Classy routes such as Durangotang, Watch
Crystal Crack, and Simians to the Sun rank high among the best
sandstone routes in the region. The Telegraphrecently caught up with
some friends for a sunny Monday afternoon at the crags.
