Road rage

The annual Squawker Road Classic made its way through the neighborhood streets and avenues of downtown Durango this past weekend. The FLC Cycling Team, as well as other local racers, competed against their conference and regional adversaries in a balls-out, take-no-prisoners contest. Racers (and spectators) enjoyed cold rain and refreshing puddles on Saturday, while Sunday provided partly cloudy skies, slight winds out of the south and more agreeable temps in the 50s. Fort Lewis racers dominated the weekend taking individual and overall victories.

Sunday. Volunteers sort through registration forms at the racer
registration station on 4th Ave. on Saturday. A racer flies along a dry Rim Drive during Sunday afternoons
races. The Morehart Neighborhood Criterium kicked off under snowy,
rainy and sketchy conditions on Saturday.
