Vanilla Pop to play Steamworks encore
What: A return show from the Taos lounge act
Where: Steamworks, 801 E. Second Ave.
When: Fri., May 30, at 10 p.m.
Durango’s favorite lounge act returns this Friday, when
Vanilla Pop brings a bit of Vegas back to Steamworks.
Taos, N.M.’s, polyestered lounge duo will once again be
stopping over for a night of Vegas-style dance music. The two-man
show mixes up everything from standard swing numbers of the
’40s to classic dance hits of the ’80s. The whole works
is dressed up in a sequined, martini-laden parody.
Bubbles and polyester will abound as Al Dente and Lester Moore
take the stage for an evening of raucous entertainment. From sweaty
Tom Jones hits to their signature rendition of Queen’s
“Bohemian Rhapsody,” they won’t disappoint.
Following a recent show, the Santa Fe Reporter dubbed Vanilla
Pop, “the coolest, hippest, swingin’-est band
around.”
The May 30 show gets under way at 10 p.m. For more information,
contact Steamworks at 259-9200.
