Sunday morning marked the beginning of the 3rd Annual Town Series running races as the Mothers Day Telegraph 5K/10Ktook off in Horse Gulch. More than 150 racers laced em up tight and came out on a beautiful cloudless morning to break a sweat for the women who broke a sweat (or two) for them. Organized by Durango Parks and Recreation, this race was only the first of a trio of running races held this year; followed soon by the Mountain Park Classic in July and the Animas Mug Run in September.

Keeping a comfortable pace ahead of the field, Kyle Skaggs takes
life in stride as he approaches the ascent of the Telegraph Trail.
Kyle went on to win gold in the 10K with a time of 35:03. Runners glide swiftly through the gentle terrain of the
meadowsprior to approaching the less kind Telegraph climb. A runner enjoys the beautiful day as she wraps up the last few
kilometers of the Womens 10K. Petros Johnson grins as he sets the pace in the Mens 5K through
the Meadow Loop. When was the last time your mom got 10K for Mothers Day?
