DIFF announces filmmaker parlors

Durangoans can also do cinema on a shoe-string as the Durango Independent Film Festival hits is stride this week. A series of free Filmmakers’ Salons has been scheduled to offer members of the audience close interaction with the festival’s directors, producers and actors.

• “I Lost it at the Movies” - Director/actor Devon Gummersall, Director Cullen Hoback and Director/Producers Patrick Donnelly and Meg Sudlik will appear to discuss the films, actors and directors that inspired them to get into the world of movie making. 12:30 p.m. on March 1. – Jean Pierre Wine Bistro, 601 Main Ave.

• “How Do They Do That?” - Documentary filmmakers Doug Hawes-Davis, Dru Carr, David Wittkower, Brad Hennegan and Daniel Forer will discuss access and interviews, filming impossible things, and pulling it all together in a financially challenged environment. 3:30 p.m. on March 1 – Jean Pierre Wine Bistro, 601 Main Ave.

• “A Century of Documentary” - Award-winning Director/Producer Lee Luw Lee will offer a glimpse into the world of documentary filmmaking. 10:30 a.m. on March 2 – Durango Arts Center, 802 E. Second Ave.
