Weighing in on the Mountain Park

Durangoans have a chance to shape the future of the Durango Mountain Park this week. A public forum on three new connector trails takes place this Thurs., May 17. The Parks & Forestry Advisory Board meeting takes place at 5 p.m. in the Durango Recreation Center.

Three new connector trails have been identified as priority projects for the park immediately west of Durango. The short trails would help create loops and limit erosion, while lightening the impact of users on the nearby neighborhood. The improvements will also ensure that the requirements of the Mountain Park’s conservation easement are met.
