Durango marked the 35th annual celebration of Earth Day with a multitude of events and scheduled entertainment at the Earthrise Community along Florida Road on Saturday. The Animas Conservancy, Fort Lewis College Environmental Center and Durango Natural Foods, among others, gathered in celebration and education of the Earth and it's natural resources. Mother Nature came through as well, with bright, sunny skies, which only enhanced the celebratory mood of the event. Formula 151 and Solar Bear were the featured musical entertainment and the highlight of the day's festivities. A large contingent of Durango's environmentally aware came out in support of the event and ushered in spring in fine form.
