Looking back on the storm that left us with nearly 7 feet of snow and a season marked by countless dumps, Durango Mountain Resort closed its lifts on Sunday. Officially the last day to ride the lifts, the masses arrived in what looked like last year’s Halloween costumes. Sponge Bob Square Pants even showed up to ski the spring snow. The first contestant to locate all the items of the scavenger hunt won a fee ski pass. And the first contestant not paying attention, fell victim at the snowball war. By this time, the keg was still far from empty and some hero snowboarders provided entertainment with a jump and more beer for the few who were determined to get their money’s worth. And they did. See you next season.
