Buckley
Park was awash in costume-clad crazies parading
around on a variety of randomly constructed, custom built
cruisers during the third annual Tour de Fat on Saturday.
New
Belgium Brewery, bringing back its Mardi Gras-inspired
festival
of bikes and beer, helped benefit local nonprofits the
San Juan
Mountains Association and Trails 2000. The festivities
got
under way early with a parade through town. Local musical
favorites Freewill Recovery rocked Buckley Park while
The
Handsome Little Devils provided an outstanding variety
show
of juggling and humor. The ballyhoo of bikes and beer
came
to a close with the Slow Ride competition down Main Avenue,
where the slowest riders proved to be most worthy.
