The sweet aroma of red wine filtered
through the village at Durango Mountain
Resort last Saturday as the Grand Tasting for
the 5th annual Will Fjerstad Memorial Wine
and Art Festival took place. Seven Colorado
wineries poured their best merlots, cabernets
and chardonnays to the delight of attending
wine aficionados. Approximately 350 people
sampled the endless amounts of wine while
perusing the artwork of the 19 artists. The
awe-inspiring setting combined with entertainment
by The Badly Bent and NY Louie &
Friends made for a festive night. Proceeds
from the weekend’s events went to the
Purgatory-based Columbine Children’s
Fund.
