The Christmas season was in full swing in downtown Durango this Saturday with the annual arrival of the Second Avenue Holiday Celebration. Merchants along Second Avenue joined forces, providing a variety of activities to welcome the season, including art openings and demonstrations, a children’s arts and crafts class, and sales for the enthusiastic bargain hunter. A drawing for a Second Avenue gift certificate was an added bonus for savvy shoppers. Capping off the day was Durango Lively Arts Co.’s presentation of “A Tuna Christmas,” a twoperson Christmas comedy at the Durango Arts Center, which served as the perfect conclusion to a day of revelry.
