With the recent news that landowner Frank Baumgartner bulldozed historic mining structures on Red Mountain Pass, The Telegraph asked: "What form of punishment should Baumgartner endure in return?”

“The county, state or the Historical
Society should have stepped in before he took the actions that he did.”

“If he violated laws, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.”

“Don't know much about it.”

“No opinion one way or another. I’m not really into historical structures.”

“He is so old, it may not matter if he were to be punished. What he did, though, was take away from future generations.”
